Beginning 2019, I moved from Paris to Los Angeles with my husband and my 2 little kids, and it is putting it mildly to say that I was not prepared for the culture shock I was about to experience during the first months. Everything was looking so familiar but in reality, nothing was close to what I knew and I had lost all my points of reference. Yet,  little by little, I started to get to know and understand the city, its dynamics, richness, complexity and contradictions that combined together make it a captivating and fascinating place.

Through Californication, I tried to express all those feelings and bring together the various contrasts of this like no other city: lights and shadows, colors and darkness, energy and slowness, openness and individualism, conformism and provocation. Welcome to LA!
