Flora is an ode to sensuality and femininity that translates through her half-closed gaze and her delicately parted lips. She seems to want to tell us something, but the words hang on. The strong contrast between the flowery and colorful background and her face all in shadow and light accentuates the mystery that surrounds her.

Technique:

  • The background has been created with a 1st layer of pink and green paint applied with big brush strokes, and a collage made with a selection of flowery and colorful papers, direct inspiration from a visit to the beautiful Huntington Library in California.
  • The portrait has been painted with black and white acrylic paint.

​Finishing touches:

  • The painting will arrive ready to display. The sides (1.5" depth) are in continuity with the painting, as an extension of the patterns, which leaves you free to frame it or not.
  • Signature, date and painting title on the back.
  • It is sealed with a satin varnish to protect against dust and UV light.
  • All photos capture the colours and details as closely as possible, but there may be slight variances between photos and actual painting.
