When I look at this portrait, I perceive the delicate combination of classicism and modernity. Her posture and attitude are almost reminiscent of an ancient painting while the style is resolutely contemporary.

The creation process involved palette knives and a five-color palette, which included neon orange and copper. The neon orange immediately draws the viewer's attention, illuminating the face, while the copper enhances the facial expressions depending on the viewer's perspective. Despite the subject's static pose, there's a sense of motion and intensity in her gaze, which follows us over her shoulder.

The artwork is named 'Lucie', a name originating from the French counterpart of the English 'Lucy', derived from the Latin word 'lux' which translates to 'light'. A name that perfectly resonates with her image.

Technique:

  • This portrait was painted with palette knives and a choice of 5 colors + black and white

​Finishing touches:

  • The painting will arrive ready to display. The sides (1.5" depth) are white, which leaves you free to frame it or not.
  • Signature, date and painting title on the back.
  • It is sealed with a satin varnish to protect against dust and UV light.
  • All photos capture the colours and details as closely as possible, but there may be slight variances between photos and actual painting.
